Are there any of my friends GameSaku readers who've never played Raiden in SNES or SEGA first? I myself rather forget what never played before or not, but clearly Glenn still remember playing in Ding Dong and SEGA. However, fortunately thanks to advances in technology and of course DotEmu that make this game, now I have the opportunity to play vertical scrolling
Raiden Legacy is a collection of four different games that Raiden (1990), Raiden Fighters (1996), Raiden Fighters 2 (1997), Raiden Fighters Jet (1998). The story itself stems from alien attack on Earth in the year 2090, when the united states to fight these aliens by creating a super aircraft, named Raiden. Well you would be super cool fighter pilot and eradicate the military forces belonging to Alien. FYI Raiden itself is made of alien craft that they managed to shoot down.
Core gameplay is similar to the similar genre where you will fly vertically firing at the enemies that appear on the front and rear. Here you can choose whether the plane you shoot automatically or by using a dedicated button. To move the ship you just tap anywhere on the screen and began to swipe to the left or to the right. Overall control is responsive enough to get you past the enemy bullets that rained down on you, even so I feel could be more responsive control again.
During the game you can pick up power ups guns and bombs, and this is one of the characteristics of Raiden. Power up you will change your plane shot from the laser to the rocket and if you take the same type of weapon that you will spend more shots with the broader direction. Along the game you will find many types of weapons are very cool.
Of course the enemy will not be silent, they will bombard you with shots. Raiden Legacy has a difficulty level that is very fitting in my opinion, enemy bullets will not be too much and crazy like bullet hell but still challenging. Raiden also has a boss fight where you will be brought into the fight with the boss exciting design-design stunning enemy ships. Each series of Raiden in this game also has a unique aircraft 5-16 with different characteristics to add variety to the game.
For business graphics enhancement nothing too significant, but still interesting and not too visible retro except for the first series called Raiden. You can see a significant improvement of the series to Raiden Raiden Fighter while from Raiden Fighter II to Raiden Fighter Jet you can feel some enhancement element such as a combo point game.

In addition to getting four games, every game is also equipped with 3 modes. Arcade Mode will take you past the mission after mission, or can be called as the story mode. While in Mission Mode you can choose to start disebuah specific missions that you must first open through arcade mode. Last mode is the training mode where you will be given unlimited lives.
As a ported Raiden Legacy fairly successful and it was mostly because the gameplay was solid and still very relevant even for gamers today. Raiden Legacy valued $ 4.99, a price premium that is enough but is actually quite fair given the inside there are four games and the amount of content quite a lot. Cheers.
